Govt to set up Ambedkar Theme Park near Yelwal
Mysuru: Social welfare minister HC Mahadevappa on Wednesday said the govt will set up a BR Ambedkar Theme Park near Yelwal.Mahadevappa, who is also in charge of the district, was speaking at the district-level officers meeting convened to discuss the preparations for the establishment of the park in the city.He said the state govt has announced plans to set up Ambedkar Theme Park and a museum on 10 acres of land identified in a village at Yelwal hobli in Mysuru taluk.The state govt established this theme park, honouring the life and legacy of Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, to educate future generations and to promote values enshrined in the Constitution.The minister asked the officials to prepare a detailed project report and get ready with a blueprint for its construction, for which the state govt has already sanctioned necessary funds.The Constitution has provided solutions to various people's problems like unemployment, drinking water and several other burning issues the nation is facing today. There is an urgent need to highlight the importance of the Constitution, people's rights and responsibilities to build a robust nation, he said.The minister directed the officials to ensure features highlighting the life of Ambedkar during his childhood days, his milestones, his connections with Shahu Maharaj, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and several others.He asked the officials to develop the theme park as a tourist site.DC G Lakshmikanth Reddy, ZP CEO S Ukeshkumar, MCC commissioner Sheikh Tanveer Asif, MDA commissioner KR Rakshith were present.
