Girl dies after consuming pesticide

Mysuru: A 21-year-old woman allegedly consumed tablets used to kill pests following alleged harassment by a village boy in Yelwala in Mysuru taluk and died. Her parents have accused a boy of harassing their daughter to marry him. Police are looking into the allegations.
Harshitha, of Ganagarahundi village, had completed her pre-university and was learning computers at her village.A youth from the same village was pestering her to marry him, but she had rejected him, police said. Police said her family members were searching for an alliance for the woman. According to Harshitha’s family, the boy continued to pester her which drove her to take the drastic step on Sunday, a senior cop said. Yelwala police said Harshitha’s family has filed a complaint against the youth.
