MANDYA/MYSURU: Fresh trouble is brewing for Ballari mining lord
G Janardhana Reddy. A cab driver has, in his suicide note, accused his employer, a KAS officer, of harassing him for being privy to information that Reddy converted Rs 100 crore to white for his daughter's wedding.
In his six-page suicide note, driver KC Ramesha, 31, has accused special land acquisition officer Bheema Nayak and his driver Mohammed of issuing death threats if he informed anybody about the money laundering.
He claimed Nayak helped Reddy and BJP MP B Sriramulu to exchange demonetized Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes worth Rs 100 crore for new notes of Rs 50, Rs 100 and Rs 2,000 for a 20% commission.This was allegedly used to clear bills incurred during the November 16 wedding.
Ramesha committed suicide at a lodge in Shivapura, on the Bengaluru-Mysure highway , on Tuesday night.Police have seized the death note and his mobile phone.
A case has been registered at the Maddur police station. Nayak and Mohammed have been booked under IPC's Sections 306 (abetting suicide) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
Ramesha's elder brother, KC Mahendra, filed the case against the duo. Mandya additional SP Savitha said the accused will be arrested on the basis of a preliminary inquiry.

Bengaluru Palace was a lavish affair, raising questions on how he managed to raise funds after demonetization on November 8.
According to Mahendra, Ramesha worked with Nayak for five years. He used to visit his parents at Kadukottanahalli village, near Maddur, once a month.
At 9pm on December 4, Ramesha went to his village with a friend,
Shashi Kumar, and informed his family Nayak had converted Reddy's Rs 100 crore to white. He claimed the officer used him to transfer money to his relatives and had threatened him against speaking about his illegal financial dealings.
In the six-page death note, Ramesha listed 19 points detailing the alleged benami and illegal financial transactions of Nayak, who he claimed had agreed to pay Rs 25 crore to contest the 2018 assembly poll from Hagaribommanahalli in Ballari district.
The note said Nayak met Reddy and Sriramulu on October 28 at the duo's apartment Parijaata in Bengaluru to discuss his (Nayak's) proposed candidature. This was followed up with a meeting on November 15 in an upscale hotel, where Rs 25 crore was allegedly paid to take care of the wedding arrangements.
The note also alleged that Nagaraj, an employee in revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa's office, had received a Rs 25-lakh bribe to close a departmental inquiry against Nayak. Crime scene:Ramesha's body was found at 6pm on December 6 in a lodge located along the highway. He had allegedly consumed poison.
Ramesha's friend Shashi Kumar called Mahendra around 1.30pm on Tuesday to say Ramesha had locked himself up inside the lodge room and was not answering calls.After checking into the lodge on December 4, he interacted with his friends till 3pm the next day .
According to the FIR, he died between 1.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday . Mahendra asked the lodge staff to break open the door of Ramesha's room.When the cops reached the place at 6pm, the door was broken open in the presence of Mahendra. Ramesha had uploaded his death note on a social networking site.
The last rites of Ramesha were performed at Kadukottanahalli. As per his wish, his sister's son Manoj Gowda lit the funeral pyre. The body was handed over to the family after performing postmortem at government hospital in Maddur.
