MYSORE: Rizwan, who stabbed his wife to death in Mysore on Saturday, took to killing unable to bear unpleasant remarks made against him by his acquaintances.
Rizwan has told police that he was being allegedly teased by his friends ever since his estranged wife Sumaya Fathima, 28, returned from
Kuwait. She came to Mysore on January 6 on a two-month holiday, but refused to stay with Rizwan.
She was residing with her mother in Gousia Nagar here.
The 35-year-old auto driver claims that his friends passed unpleasant remarks against him after Sumaya refused to stay with him.
Udayagiri police said Sumaya was working in Kuwait as domestic help for the past two years. Sumaya had left her son, a school student, with her mother.
Sources claimed that Rizwan was not well and his health was deteriorating by the day due to an illness. Sumaya's rejection is said to have prompted him to kill her.
Sumaya was laid to rest in Mysore on Sunday.
