Forum calls for bandh on Feb 7

Mysuru: Samvidhana Rakshana Samithi members have called for a city bandh on February 7 to protest against the disrespect towards dalit icon BR Ambedkar during R-day programme, and to press for reservation in the appointment of judicial officers.
Speaking to reporters, Backward Classes Awareness Forum president KS Shivaramu said several organisations under the banner Samvidhana Rakshana Samithi, have united to observe the bandh.
“We appeal to the public and all political parties, hoteliers, industrialists, Kannada activists, NGOs, vendors, traders, and other organisations to extend their support to the Mysuru city bandh from 6am to 5pm on February 7,” he stated.
The members held a meeting on Wednesday at Jaladarshini to devise strategies for the bandh.
