MYSORE: Designer Prasad Bidapa organized a Mega Model Hunt at a mall here on Friday to woo young models from the city. Ten girls and 14 boys participated in the event.
Bidapa saw an optimistic development in the event as many youngsters came forward with zeal making it easier to eliminate negative notions about the fashion industry. "Some parents stop children from getting into the industry, because they consider modeling as vulgar.

But it is a myth. Once recognized in the industry, they would have made their career," said Bidapa.
The audition left the mall rats mesmerized. "There is a lot of potential among Mysoreans, but they have no proper channel to exhibit them. Such shows will encourage them break the barriers and make a career in glamour industry," said Bidapa.
Experts from Bangalore will be training those selected during the auditions on weekends in Mysore. The training aims at equipping them with the basic skills required to survive in the entertainment industry like fitness, skin and hair grooming, and the like. They will also be taught dance, TV and photographic modelling, theatre and make-up.
"Such auditions give us an opportunity to exhibit our talent. I want to participate in bigger events and make a career in fashion," said Tanya Dikshith, a participant from NIE-IT.
Another participant Ravika Muthamma said: "My parents are supportive. They encourage me to get into fashion." The grand finale of the event will be held in February.
