Elephant found dead

Mysuru: A 46-year-old captive elephant Kumaraswamy that was missing from the Balle elephant camp in Nagarahole Tiger Reserve was found dead near Anekallu Dibba road in the forest early on Monday. The incident came to light when the personnel were on regular beat duty early on April 1. According to the foresters, the tusker has died of colic. The tusker had been in the camp since 2001, said NTR director.Jeweller files theft complaintMysuru: A jewellery shop owner has lodged a complaint with police claiming that huge quantities of gold and silver valuables was missing from his shop at Sathagalli in east Mysuru. Based on the complaint, South police have registered a case. A senior police officer said they were verifying the veracity of the complaint as the complainant owes money to lenders.
