Mysuru: A property owner in DB Kuppe village has been booked for the death of a 35-year-old tusker due to electrocution in Nagarahole Tiger Reserve on Thursday.
The tusker was found dead on the roadside near the village in the early hours of Thursday. Investigations revealed that the tusker had come in contact with a live wire and died subsequently.
Nagarahole authorities have lodged a complaint against the land owner at Antharasanthe police station for illegally electrifying the fence around the land. Nagarahole foresters have asked CESC officials to initiate legal proceedings against the property owner, according to a release from Harshakumar Chikkanaragund, director and deputy conservator of forest, Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.
