MYSORE: A 42-year-old man and his three children drowned in Mosambaiahanahalli Lake near Mysore under mysterious circumstances on Sunday night.
Police said Mahadeva, 42, may have been drunk when he rode his TVS XL into the lake but his relatives suspect he and his kids were murdered. Mysore South police said preliminary investigation confirmed that he was drunk.

“We’re investigating and it’s too early to comment,” said SP Abhinav Khare.
After a two-hour search operation, cops recovered the bodies of Mahadeva, who is from Vajamangala, as well as his kids, Anjali, 11, Prajwal, 8 and Mahadesha, 6. His two-wheeler was also recovered.
Police said the incident may have happened on Sunday night when Mahadeva was returning from his wife Nagamma’s village. Villagers noticed the floating bodies on Monday morning.
“The search for the bodies started at 10.25am and the last body was retrieved around 1.30pm. The lake was 10ft deep and over a dozen personnel were pressed into action,” said regional fire officer C Basavanna.
Nagamma and kids stayed in her parent’s house in Kiralu after she separated from her husband. Mahadeva would to visit Kiralu to see his children for the past two years. Mahadeva’s mother said she’d file a complaint against her daughter-in-law who had allegedly threatened to kill him.
