Don’t drag my name into Muda scam: Byrathi Suresh

Mysuru: Urban development minister Byrathi Suresh on Saturday said his name was being dragged into the Muda scam and asserted that no irregularities have taken place after he took charge of the ministry. Suresh, who met chief minister Siddaramaiah at his residence in Mysuru, along with MLA and CM's legal adviser AS Ponnanna, told reporters that he was going to Madikeri as he was having a headache. When asked if it was because of the case registered against the CM in the Muda scam, he said it has nothing to do with it. "I want to relax and hence I am going to Madikeri," he said.According to him, the Muda case was not a headache for him. He said the registration of an FIR against the CM and his family members was expected. "We will face it legally. I have faith in the judiciary," he said."No irregularities have been committed in Muda during my tenure. There is no truth in the argument that it was because of me that Siddaramaiah has landed in legal trouble. Check the time of the alternative site allotment scam. Don't drag my name into the scam," he said.He asked Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and HD Kumaraswamy to resign before asking Siddaramaiah to step down.Siddaramaiah was closeted with the minister and MLA for over an hour, sources said. Ponnanna reportedly discussed the charges and sections under which the CM, his family members, and others have been booked by Lokayukta police and the legal measures to be adopted. He was in Mysuru on Friday night also.
