Demand for CBI probe into seer’s murder
Mysuru: The Jain community members in Mysuru have demanded the state government to order a CBI probe into the murder of Digambar Jain monk Acharya Kamakumar Nandi Maharaj.
Speaking here on Tuesday, Sri Digambar Jain Samaj president MR Sunil Kumar Jain said the community was shocked by the brutal incident. Since there were rumours that one of the accused is being shielded by vested interests, we are demanding a detailed CBI probe into the incident, he said.

He said that such incidents must not occur in the future.
They will also hold a silent protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Gandhi Square on July 12 after which they will move towards the DC’s office to submit a memorandum demanding CBI probe.
They also urged the state government to take steps to announce separate laws for the protection of Jain monks. They also urged the government to ensure that the order to provide shelter for Jain monks at government schools, to facilitate their overnight stay was followed.
