Mysuru: The second additional civil judge and JMFC court on Thursday rejected the bail petition of
Ayub Khan of the New Indian Congress party, who is facing charges under IPC 295-A for hurting religious sentiments.
Senior advocate R Girijesh, who is assisting the prosecution, said the court dismissed the bail plea after hearing arguments.
Ayub Khan was sent in 14-day judicial custody for allegedly insulting Lord Gomateshwara, on February 12.
He was booked by Udayagiri police following a complaint by Sri Digambar Jain Samaj. He had allegedly made a derogatory statement against Lord Gomateshwara while speaking about the Hijab controversy. TNN
