MYSURU: KPCC working president Satish Jarkiholi and other senior leaders of district Congress unit visited the residence of K Harish Gowda who is seeking the party ticket from Chamaraja constituency.
This comes amidst the party not announcing the candidate for Chamaraja segment. Gowda is seeking the ticket, as also former MLA Vasu. There is speculation that Gowda could quit the party and pose a challenge to the candidate, if he misses Congress ticket.
Accompanied by Congress MLAs Yatindra Siddaramaiah, H P Manjunath, MLA Anil Kumar, Jarkiholi had dinner with Gowda and discussed political developments.

According to Gowda, it was a courtesy call. “Jarkiholi and others were in the city to attend the scheduled tribes’ convention. I had invited them for dinner,” he claimed.
According to party sources, Gowda was asked to start campaigning in Chamaraja constituency during the meeting.
The party leaders are also concerned that former mayor Ayub Khan, who was an aspirant for Narasimharaja segment, could quit the party as his supporters have asked him to join JD(S) and fight the polls. Khan, who is the leader of Congress in MCC, is miffed with the party leaders.
