MYSORE: Children of Mysore can treat themselves to movies at a three-day film festival that begins at Olympia theatre on Wednesday.
At the 8th International Children's Film Festival, 135 films from 25 countries will be screened across the state.
N R Nanjunde Gowda, president of Children's India, said that the festival aims at igniting the young minds, while they have fun watching cinema.

Apart from Mysore, the fest will also be held in Bangalore, Mangalore, Hubli and Dharwad. The films will be screened under competitive, country focus and environment sub-sections. Environment-related children films will also be screened.
In 2011, Children's India, under the guidance of its president film-maker Nanjunde Gowda, hosted a programme titled 'Mane Munde Makkala Cinema', which attracted lakhs of film lovers.
In Mysore, the following films will be screened at Olympia: January 9 -- Ball Pen (Kannada) by Shashikanth, 9.30am; King Siri (Sri Lanka) by Somaratne Dissanayake, 11.30 am; January 10 -- Prasad (Kannada) by Manoj Sati, 9.30 am; Siddaganga (Kannada) by G Murthy, 11.30 am; January 11 -- Kruthi (Kannada) by P R Ramadasa Naidu, 9.30am; Prarthana (Kannada) by Sadashiva Shenoy, 11.30 am.
