Chamarajanagar drafts plan to declare 67 revenue villages
Mysuru: Chamarajanagar district administration has made preparations to declare another 67 villages as revenue villages soon. It has prepared a final draft, which will be announced soon.Currently, the district has 408 villages. Officials of the revenue department have identified 67 human habitations, like Gollarahatti, Kuruburahatti, and Majare, to be declared as revenue villages. The declaration will help these places see development works.It will also help these residents seek facilities from the govt. They will also get govt records for their properties, as they were deprived of these benefits from the govt because these settlements were not recorded officially all these years.The district administration and revenue department officials have prepared the records of these villages and are waiting for the final notification. The records of these villages were located in different survey numbers of neighbouring villages.At least 50 families must settle in such villages, with a population of 250, owning a minimum of 100 acres, as per the norms for declaring these villages as revenue villages. There is relaxation for forest fringe villages located in hilly areas.15 human habitations that have been identified in Chamarajanagar taluk as revenue villages, few of them are Vadgalapuradahundi, Kagalwadimole, Nallurumole, Halepura, Saragurumole, Kaduvinakatte, and Panyadahundi.10 villages were identified in Hanur taluk, few of them are Naganatta, Kempaiahanahatti, Doddamalapura, Chennur, and K Gundapura.11 villages were identified in Kollegal taluk, few of them are Mallanahallimala, Kajjihundi, Silkalpura, and Kunthurumole.12 villages were identified in Gundlupet taluk, few of them are Halahalli, Dadadahalli, Kodagapura, Mallammanahundi, Rangupura, Kadathal Katte Hundi, Ranganathapura, and Kurubarahundi.Speaking to TOI, Chamarajanagar additional deputy commissioner T Javaregowda said the district administration has identified 67 human settlements for declaration as revenue villages in the district. Among them, the revenue department has collected all necessary records of 51 villages and sent them for govt approval for declaring them as revenue villages. It has also sent records of the remaining villages, he added.The residents of these villages will receive RTCs, other land records, residential certificates, and other records for their property after the final notification is issued by the govt. The declaration helps to regularise all these settlements as villages officially, he added.Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha Chamarajanagar district unit chief Honnur Honnappa said the declaration of 67 settlements as revenue villages will help the residents get records for their properties, and to avail loans and other benefits from the govt. Emphasising that several human habitations were still left out of the declaration even after this identification, he appealed to the state govt and Chamarajanagar district administration to identify the remaining settlements and declare them as revenue villages.
