BSP begins preparations to win Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha seat
MYSURU: Against a backdrop of hectic parleying between the top brasses of the Congress and JD(S) to finalise the seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which is a part of the alliance in the state government, has started preparations to win the reserved
At a meeting of the BSP’s office-bearers and workers convened by the party’s state president ML Tomar at a convention centre in Nanjangud on Wednesday, the party’s activists were exhorted to start working towards helping it win the Chamarajanagar seat, currently held by R Dhruvanarayan of the Congress.

On the coming together of SP and BSP in Uttar Pradesh – India’s most populous state that sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha – Tomar said that the two regional parties would contest most of the seats, and give Congress only two.
On the other hand, Mahesh said that BSP was opposed to both the BJP and the Congress. Blaming Congress for the plight of the Dalits in the country, Mahesh said, “It was the BSP that was responsible for the defeat of the BJP in the five states that went to polls recently. In February, we will hold public meetings in eight assembly segments in Chamarajanagar that fall under the purview of the Lok Sabha seat.”
BSP leader Hariram, Arakalavadi Nagendra and other BSP leaders attended the meeting.
