B H Manjunath and former minister M Shivanna (Kote Shivanna) took charge as president of the BJP Mysuru city unit and the district unit respectively on Sunday.
State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa had announced their appointment on Saturday. At a function organized at the BJP office at Nazarbad here, outgoing city president E Maruthirao Pawar and district chief Hemanthakumar Gowda handed over the reins to their successors by giving party flags to them. MLC Go Madhusudhan, who was appointed as party spokesperson, was felicitated. The party leaders said the party is aiming to win eight to 10 seats from Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts in the 2018 elections. Both districts together have 15 seats. tnn
