Mysuru: A day after pandemonium broke out during the MCC council meeting and ended abruptly, Congress, which is the opposition party in the council, targeted BJP of maladministration. It also accused mayor Shivakumar of acting as per the directives of saffron party leaders, instead working as specified by the Constitution. Congress leader and former Mayor Ayub Khan, who is a leader in opposition in the MCC council, said the mayor is taking decisions throwing rules and regulation into the wind.

“Sanitation works are not being effectively done without work in most of the wards of MCC. Even two months after the mayor assuming office, appointment of chairman to five standing committees is not done and the election to it is being put off without cause. Without any discussion, subjects are being passed in the council meeting and recently five schemes were passed,” he said.
AAP Mysuru celebrates Delhi victory
Mysuru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP, Mysuru) celebrated the party’s victory in the recently held Delhi municipal corporation elections. They also rejoiced after the AAP got the national party status following its performance in Gujarat assembly polls. Brain-dead man’s
organs donated
Mysuru: The family members of Kumar Nayak, who was declared brain dead, donated his two heart valves, liver, and corneas which will save four lives. According a Apollo BGS Hospital release, Nayak, 52, a resident of Agrahara, was brought to the hospital on December 3. He was in critical condition after undergoing surgery at another hospital. Nayak was kept on life support for two days and was declared brain dead due to brain stem failure on December 5 at 9.30pm. Later, his family members were counselled for organ donation to which they agreed.

Ravi takes a dig at Kharge
Chikkamagaluru: BJP national general secretary C T Ravi on Friday criticised AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and said after Gujarat polls, the latter must have understood who Ravana is. Speaking to reporters, Ravi said Kharge had criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election rally at Ahmedabad and compared him to Ravana with 100 heads. “Gujarat’s victory is historical and the people have supported the party for the seventh time,” he said, adding Congress tasted defeat where it was never defeated in the history Independent India.

Mysuru: Industry and culture conference ‘HR Dasara – An Insight to Mysuru Industrial Prosperity’ was held at SDM IMD on Thursday. The conference was organised by Mysore HR Forum and Edin Bridge Foundation, Colortone Textiles, Excelsoft Technologies and IT Champs. Royal family member Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, who inaugurated the event, spoke about the history of Mysuru industrial development and the contribution of Wadiyars to the erstwhile Mysore state. He also highlighted the importance of digital infrastructure development and emphasised that Karnataka is home to every major IT industry in the country. AIISH observes IDPWD-2022
Mysuru: The All India Institute of Speech and Hearing observed International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD) on Friday. The event aims at providing an opportunity to promote the participation of persons with disabilities and to promote awareness regarding disability issues and fundamental rights of persons with disabilities. The theme for IDPWD-2022 is ‘Transformative Solution for Inclusive Development: The Role of Innovation in Fueling an Accessible and Equitable World’. District disabled welfare officer R Malini was the guest of honour.
