Mysuru: Senior BJP leader and Union minister Ananth Kumar on Saturday accused chief minister Siddaramaiah of indulging in immoral politics by fielding a third candidate in the Rajya Sabha polls.
"Congress has the numbers to win two seats in the Upper House in Parliament. But the CM has fielded a third candidate and trying horse trading of MLAs. He is also defending his act, which is immoral as he is saying that all the candidates have the right to seek votes from MLAs, irrespective of party affiliation," he told reporters.
1x1 polls

The minister campaigned for M V Ravishankar, who is contesting the polls to South Graduates' constituency in the city visiting educational institutions.
He said that voters will speak their mind in the polls to the legislative council as Congress government is not attending to people's problems. Pointing at the issue of police strike on Saturday, he said: "It points to the insensitivity of the ruling party towards administration."
He accused home minister G Parameshwara of trying to bully media by threatening to arrest reporters for seeking answers on the police issue. This shows Congress leaders' mindset, he stated.
CM Siddaramaiah has not enrolled as the voter of the South Graduates' constituency. "I'm a graduate, but have not enrolled my name in the voters' list," he stated. Siddaramaiah, who taught law for sometime, said that he doesn't remember having voted in South Graduates' constituency polls.
Speaking to reporters, the CM said that the party candidate Dr H N Ravindra will win the polls as Congress leaders and activists are campaigning briskly for him. "There was some opposition to the candidate initially. But now the party is behind him and there are no differences among the party leaders," he stated.
