<div class="section1"><div class="Normal" style="" text-align:="" justify="">MUMBAI: The Santa Cruz police have registered a complaint against the distributors of the film ''Zeher'' for displaying obscene posters to promote the film. The complaint was filed by local resident Vinod Jain onMonday, police said.<br /><br />The posters—put up in theatres, on billboards and at other locations— show the bare back of actress Udita Goswami.
The police are likely to question the content designer of the posters.No arrests have been made so far. Deputy commissioner of police Amitabh Gupta said the legal aspects of the case are being considered. ''Zeher'' is the fourth film whose makers have faced allegations of displaying obscene posters in recent times. The social service branch of the Mumbai police had filed cognisable complaints this January against film-makers Pooja Bhatt and Sujit Kumar for displaying obscene posters for their film ''Rog'', which stars South African model Ilene Hamman.Another film-maker Dilip Gulati was named in the complaint for his film ''Tezaab''. The complaint was made by professor Pratibha Naithani of St Xavier''s College, Dhobi Talao.<br /><br />More recently, three producers of the film ''Fun'' were arrested and relased on bail for displaying obscene posters of the film. Punishment if charges are proven can range from two to five years imprisonment to a fine of up to Rs 2,000.</div> </div>
