Woman kills self, daughter

MUMBAI: A woman, Janki Verma, allegedly set herself and her daughter (2)on fire at their shanty in Malad (W) on Monday. The two were killed in the fire. Verma’s husband, Anuj, was working at a construction site nearby when the incident took place. “Anuj’s co-worker noticed the flames at his house and raised an alarm. They rushed towards the shanty but could not open the door.He and his co-workers broke open the asbestos sheets covering the shanty. They took Janki and Nidhi to Shatabdi Hospital,” a police official said.
