Woman ends life after tiff with hubby over food

MUMBAI: A woman from Shivaji Nagar committed suicide after a fight with her husband allegedly over the purchase of Chinese food. Police officials said the deceased, Fakirrunisa Shaikh (30), wanted to have Chinese food but her husband, Mohammad Sadiq, refused to buy it for her as she was unwell. They fought for nearly an hour on Wednesday night.
Around 10.30 pm, the couple went to sleep.But at 2.25 am on Thursday, Fakirrunisa woke up and hanged herself from the roof of her house using a nylon rope. Her husband found her body at 2.45 am.
The couple was married for 14 years and have two sons aged 12 and 8 years. Mohammad Sadiq is a zari worker.
