Woman drug peddler detained by Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell
The detention followed allegations that the accused resumed drug trafficking activities after securing bail in earlier narcotics cases
Mumbai: A 33-year-old woman, Nazia Rabiul Islam alias Shobha Mandal, has been detained under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and sent to Nashik Road Central Jail for one year, said officials from Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC). The state home department approved the detention order, executed on Thursday.The detention followed allegations that she resumed drug trafficking activities after securing bail in earlier narcotics cases.Officials said she is linked to four NDPS cases registered by different ANC units and Mumbai Police between 2023 and 2025.Police said the chargesheets have been filed in the cases, some of which are under trial.
