Woman booked for assaulting ticket checker at Ghatkopar station
MUMBAI: An FIR was registered against a 20-year-old school teacher for allegedly assaulting two female ticker checkers (TC) at Ghatkopar railway station on Wednesday, following an altercation. The TCs had told the accused that her ticket was from a day earlier, which effectively meant she was ticketless. The accused alleged that despite paying a fine, she was not given a receipt.

No arrest was made.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon. The accused was travelling from Vikhroli to Parel in a CSMT-bound local with her colleagues.
Around 3.30pm, a group of female TCs boarded the train and started checking the tickets. One of them pointed out to the accused that the ticket she was carrying was from a day earlier. The accused insisted she had bought the ticket the same day. The TCs told her to either pay a fine on the running train or get off at the next station (Ghatkopar) and pay the fine.
After getting off at Ghatkopar and paying the fine, the accused clicked photos of the ticket checkers as she did not receive a payment receipt. She said she would lodge a complaint about them. A scuffle broke out. When a TC starred to pull her, she allegedly slapped one of the TCs and kicked another in the stomach.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) was informed and an FIR was registered against her for assaulting a public servant. As the offence is punishable with a sentence of less than 7 years in prison, she was not arrested. She also submitted a written complaint against the TCs for not giving her a payment receipt.
