MUMBAI: The decks were cleared on Thursday for the trial in the murder of actress Priya Rajwansh, with a sessions court taking on record lists of witnesses and documents tabled by the prosecution.
Ketan Anand and Vivek Anand, sons of the late film-maker Chetan Anand, their servant Mala Choudhary, and her relative Ashok Chinnaswamy are accused in the case.
All of them were present in the court on Thursday.
Prosecutor Kiran Makasare submitted a list of over 100 witnesses before sessions judge S.P. Nikam. The documents tabled include a will purportedly executed by Chetan Anand, his personal diary and opinion of handwriting experts.
On May 10, the court framed a charge against Anand brothers and the two other accused. They have been charged under section 302 IPC (murder), section 120-B IPC (conspiracy) and section 201 IPC (causing disappearance of evidence).
On May 3, the Mumbai high court rejected the plea of the Anand brothers seeking discharge from the case.
The duo had filed an appeal against the April 6 order of trial court refusing to discharge them from the case.
