"It is one of the rarest and highly skillful complex cardiovascular interventional procedures," said WR chief spokesperson Sumit Thakur in a media statement issued on Wednesday.

"The 32-year old mother had a history of chest pain and features of heart failure, persisting for the last six months. It was found that she was suffering from one of the rarest and life-threatening diseases where her aorta (vessel that delivers oxygen-rich blood to your body) was hugely dilated," he said.

Looking at the critical and life-threatening clinical condition of the patient, an emergency meeting among cardiologist, cardiac surgeon, interventional radiologist and cardiac anaesthesiologist was held and a risky, rare and complex procedure was planned. "The procedures were carried out successfully and the patient had an uneventful postoperative recovery and was discharged from the hospital," he added.

The heart procedure was carried out under guidance of WR's principal chief medical director Dr Hafeezunnisa and JRH medical director Dr Mamta Sharma, wherein required stents were provided on time which made the surgery successful and eventually saving a precious life, a WR statement mentioned.
