MUMBAI: A 24-year-old biker was arrested on Sunday, within 48 hours after a 13-second video clip of him performing a dangerous stunt along with two women on the two-wheeler went viral on March 30.

The accused, Faiyaz Qadri alias Faiz, performed the stunt three months ago at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) at night. BKC police have seized the bike that Qadri used in the offence and further probe is on to decide the course of action to be taken against the two women who were part of the offence.

Police are also communicating with the RTO help them identify motorcycle violations following which they will seek a court order to impound his vehicle. "Apart from impounding his vehicle, we are going to write to the RTO to cancel his vehicle registration and suspend his driving licence. Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) of the IPC has been added to the FIR against the Qadri. He has a previous criminal record and has been externed from Antop Hill locality for a year," joint commissioner of police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary told TOI.

The clip that was uploaded recently was shot in December 2022. The video clip garnered over 1. 4 lakh views after an activist tweeted about it. The team comrising senior inspector Vishram Abyankar, inspector Rajesh Gawli, assistant inspectors Shailendra Jagdale, Anand Pawar, sub-inspectors Vishal Palande and Sushant Patil traced the accused from Saki Naka after the FIR was registered on March 31.
