MUMBAI: On a prosecution plea, asessions court has summoned noted film maker Vijay Anand to depose as witness inthe case of murder of former actress Priya Rajwansh on June 24.The summonswere issued by sessions judge S P Nikam on Tuesday after prosecutor KiranMakasare filed an application in this regard.The deposition of Vijay Anandis considered significant in legal circles because he has signed as witness inthe will executed by late Chetan Anand who had assigned one third share of hisproperty to his close friend Priya Rajwansh.The prosecution''s case is thatChetan Anand''s sons, Ketan and Vivek, had conspired with their servants to killPriya to deprive her of the one-third share in the property.Vijay Anand,who came to the court on Tuesday without the will, was asked to return with thewill. When he appeared later he suffered chest pain in the court compound andwas examined by a doctor. Vijay was referred to a cardiologist forcardiogram.The court discharged Vijay for the day and summoned him toappear on June 24 for deposition on the will executed by late ChetanAnand.With Vijay Anand''s deposition, the prosecution desires to establishthe motive behind the murder.Priya, a close friend of late Chetan Anand,was found murdered in Juhu bungalow on March 7, 2000. The bungalow belonged toChetan Anand and Priya used to visit the place every night for dinner.
