VHP protests against seer's arrest

MUMBAI: Around 200 VHP workers on Saturday protested against the arrest of Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati.
The activists gathered at the Churchgate station in South Mumbai to protest the arrest and also demanded the seer''s release.
Later, Mohan Saleskar, the secretary of VHP''s local unit said that VHP was seeking the release of Shankaracharya at the earliest and said that VHP would hold nationwide protests in case the pontiff is not released soon.
The Parishad also threatened to hold demonstrations from Monday outside all local train stations.
