The complainant, an architect from Mumbai, boarded Suryanagri Express from Vadodara station at 7.40am. She said after an elderly couple, who was seated in the berths opposite hers, got off at Surat, she was alone in the section. In her complaint, she said around 9.55am, attendants Bhupendra Prajapati (18) and Bhimsingh Prajapati (19) sat on the berths opposite hers on the pretext of picking up blankets and made lewd comments about her.

Upset, she started walking towards another coach where her aunt had a berth and was shocked to see that one of the attendants was following her. She said both attendants continued to follow her whenever she moved around the coach. While her aunt got off at Borivli station, the complainant got off at Dadar station and alerted cops on the platform, who immediately took the duo into custody. The Mumbai Central GRP have booked them under relevant sections of the IPC for stalking and later produced them before a railway court.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
