'Trusted' maid steals valuables, cash worth 2 L from pilot's home, nabbed

MUMBAI: The Santa Cruz police on Sunday arrested a domestic help in connection with a theft at her employer's residence. The accused, Manisha Ganeshan, had stolen valuables and cash amounting to Rs 2.19 lakh from the Santa Cruz residence of a pilot. The pilot's family didn't suspect Ganeshan's involvement in the crime as she had been working for them for the last eight years.The family had recently employed another maid, Jyoti (18), and felt that she could be the culprit. The family approached the police on December 26. When cops told the family that they wanted to question both the maids, the family contested Ganeshan's innocence. Jyoti was arrested but the she insisted that she was innocent. The police then turned to Ganeshan. On January 2, she broke down and admitted to her crime. tnn
