Transgender leader joins NCP

MUMBAI: Transgender community leader Priya Patil on Thursday joined the NCP in the presence of party MP Supriya Patil and spokesperson Nawab Malik. "We have taken up the cause of the transgender community.
Priya is associated with activities for the transgender community taken up by Y B Chavan Trust," Sule said. Malik said when he was a cabinet member in 2004, financial aid was provided to community members under Sanjay Gandhi scheme for poor and destitute.
