MUMBAI: The city crime branch solved a robbery case in Borivli with the arrest of three persons on Sunday.
Those arrested are Ashok Ratan Thorat (28), Prashant Tanaji Jagtap (30), both residents of Airoli in Navi Mumbai, and Santosh Ratansingh Thakur (30), a resident of Gorai in Borivli.
According to the police, businessman Ganesh Lokre was in his office on March 22 when two men barged in and at gunpoint robbed him of two mobile phones, a gold chain, a gold ring, Rs 25,000 in cash and a Honda City car worth Rs 11 lakh on March 22 at 7.30 pm.
Crime branch officials unit 11 led by inspector S Dalvi arrested the three who were moving around suspiciously in Goregaon. The accused confessed to the crime.
The police are trying to find out whether they had committed similar offences at other places as well. any more cases have been registered against them.
They had committed robberies, who admitted during interrogation that they had robbed Lokre, had cases against them in Navi Mumbai and Thane. The police are trying to find out if they had committed similar robberies in other parts of the city.
