Thane Police Crack Multiple Burglary Cases, Arrest Two Suspects

Thane: The Kalwa Police in Thane arrested two accused from Ulhasnagar who were involved in a series of burglaries. The two arrested are identified as Rajveer Lahori (19) and Krish Anil Lotwani (19), both residents of Ulhasnagar.The police said that the arrests were made following an investigation into a robbery at a medical store in Kalwa. The incident occurred on August 25, 2024, when unidentified individuals broke into Sainidhi Chemist, located in Siddheshwar Park, Parsik Nagar, Kalwa."The burglars forcibly opened the shop's shutter and stole cash and a ladies' watch from the premises," said a police officer. Acting swiftly on the complaint filed by the store owner, Swati Prakash Kesarwani, the Kalwa Police formed special teams under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ashok Utekar.Using CCTV footage and intelligence gathering, the police traced the suspects to Ulhasnagar. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the medical store burglary and six other similar crimes across Thane and Navi Mumbai. The police have recovered cash worth Rs. 5,000 and a motorcycle valued at Rs. 40,000 from the accused that was used in the crime.A third suspect, Salman Ahmad Tariq Shaikh (20), is currently absconding, and efforts are underway to apprehend him. The arrested individuals have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to theft, burglary, and other offences. The other aspects of the case are under probe, said the officer privy to the probe.
