Thai AirAsia X to launch Delhi-Bangkok flights from next month

MUMBAI: Thai AirAsia X (XJ) on Thursday announced direct flights from Delhi to Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport, commencing December 15. The airline said bookings are available until November 24, with fares starting at Rs 7,990 per journey for travel between December 15, 2024, and March 26, 2025. Reservations can be made through airasia.com, the AirAsia MOVE app, or authorised travel partners, it said.
"The Fly Thru service enables Delhi passengers to connect via Don Mueang Airport, Bangkok, to destinations including Chiang Mai, Phuket, Shanghai, or Sydney. Passengers need only clear immigration and collect baggage at their final destination," it said.
Thai AirAsia X CEO, Tassapon Bijleveld, said: "Thai AirAsia X is ready to start flying for the first time from Delhi direct to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok is a popular destination for Indian travellers, who were the third largest number of tourists to the Kingdom in 2024." He added that Thai AirAsia X believed that bridging India and Thailand will promote good relations, economic stimulation, trade, and tourism by increasing the ease and affordability of travel between the two countries. Operating out of Don Mueang Airport, arrivals on the route will have access to the largest hub of domestic travel in Thailand, he added.
The service begins with bi-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays, expanding to four weekly flights from January 15, 2025, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The route offers connections to domestic destinations and international locations across ASEAN, China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
The Delhi-Don Mueang route utilises Airbus A330 aircraft with 285-377 seats. Flight XJ231 departs Delhi at 17:05, arriving in Don Mueang at 22:50. The return flight, XJ230, leaves Don Mueang Airport at 12:45, reaching Delhi at 15:50.
