MUMBAI: Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray''s personal assistant Milind Narvekar was allegedly involved in a brawl with a tempo driver who jumped lanes and blocked their Toyota Landcruiser on the Senapati Bapat Marg at Mahim on Thursday afternoon.
Thackeray was on his way to the party''s Nariman Point office when the incident occurred near the Saraswati Vidya Mandir.
According to the police, a tempo jumped lanes and came in the way of Thackeray''s vehicle, forcing it to halt suddenly. A trailing taxi rammed into the Landcruiser from behind but nobody was hurt.
It is learnt that an angry Narvekar ran upto the tempo and smashed its windshield. Zakir Ali Sulemman, the tempo driver, was hauled to the Mahim police station.
However, no case was registered either against the driver or Narvekar. The incident was just recorded in the accident register and thetempo driver was allowed to go.
A senior police officer, who did not wish to be named, told TNN, "No action can be taken because there is no complaint." Narvekar has denied the charges. "I did not break the windshield. Somebody from the public may have done it," he said.
