Teen and brother assault traffic constable in Charkop; FIR registered

Mumbai: A traffic police constable was assaulted by a collegian and his brother following an altercation over violating traffic rules at Charkop on Thursday. The Charkop Police registered an FIR against the duo.Constable Mandar Jadhav, the complainant, is attached to the Kandivali traffic division. On Thursday, he intercepted a 19-year-old collegian on a two-wheeler who wasn't wearing a helmet. The collegian halted and was asked to produce his driving licence. But he neither had a licence nor vehicle papers. He then summoned his 23-year-old brother and asked him to get vehicle papers.Jadhav issued an e-challan and asked the brothers to clear all pending fines as well. When they couldn't, he started to take their two-wheeler away to the traffic division. This sparked an argument between him and the siblings. The collegian's older brother assaulted Jadhav on the face with his keys, causing him to bleed.Subsequently, Jadhav registered a complaint against the siblings at Charkop Police station.
