MUMBAI: Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Monday forwarded a letter written by four women MPs, Jaya Bhaduri, Fauzia Khan, Vandana Chavan and Priyanka Chaturvedi, against Maharashtra agriculture minister Abdul Sattar to chief minister Eknath Shinde for appropriate action.

A few weeks ago, Sattar had used derogatory language against NCP Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule following which there was a statewide protest. The four women parliamentarians had called on Koshyari to press their demand for action against errant cabinet members who are in the habit of using abusive and derogatory language against women. At his meeting with the delegation, the governor had assured the MPs that he will personally investigate the complaint.

On Monday, Koshyari wrote to Khan saying the memo had been forwarded to the CM for appropriate action.
