Sujit Naik’s century helps Tata gain lead

MUMBAI: A fine century (132 off 163 balls) by Sujit Nayak helped Tata SC bag the first innings lead against DY Patil B on Day 2 of their Times Shield ‘A’ Division first round match at the DY Patil University ground on Wednesday. Replying to DY Patil B's 227, Tata looked in trouble before a ninth wicket partnership of 111 between Naik and Siddharth Raut took them to 268.
At the Indian Airlines Ground in Kalina, Ayush Zimare's century (126, 273b, 4x9) put Air India SC on top against Income-Tax Sports and Recreation Club.After Zimare's ton and Vaibhav Mali's 73 helped Air India score 390 for 9, Irfan Umar's deadly spell (4-22) left Income-Tax limping at 47 for six.
At CCI, Shakti Malviya took 7 for 69, but Jain Irrigation scored 415 and gained a big first innings lead against Indian Navy Sports Control Cell.
Riding on fifties by Akash Parkar (99 not out), Swapnil Pradhan (78) and Prasad Pawar (70), Mumbai Customs (393-7) gained a massive lead over Central Railway (195).
