MUMBAI: The Congress party’s students wing, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest against Yogesh Soman, director of arts and culture at Mumbai University, for allegedly making objectionable statements against Rahul Gandhi and the late prime minister Indira Gandhi.

NSUI members agitated outside the vice-chancellor’s office and then locked the passage that leads to the V-C’s office on the Fort campus. They also met the vice-chancellor to raise the issue.

University officials said they will look in to matter and take necessary action.
