Rain hit Mumbai

A sudden violent dust storm accompanied by lashing rain caught Mumbaikars off-guard amid afternoon heat on Monday. The inclement weather disrupted transportation on all fronts in Mumbai.

2/12

Hoarding collapsed

An illegal hoarding (120x120sq ft), far bigger than the maximum size (40x40sq ft) allowed by BMC, collapsed on a petrol pump near Ghatkopar’s Police Ground on Monday during a dust storm accompanied by 60kmph winds.

3/12

Flights diverted

Fifteen Mumbai-bound flights were diverted to other airports after a sudden dust storm and rain hit Mumbai on Monday evening.

4/12

Campaign rallies cancelled

The dust storm clouded the political landscape as well, with campaign rallies and roadshows for the Lok Sabha election either cancelled or truncated.

5/12

Huge dust storm

The huge dust storm followed by heavy rain was caused by a natural phenomenon called heat inversion. It occurs locally when moist air blows into areas that have seen prolonged hot temperatures.

6/12

Massive storm

G.ufran Beig, senior met scientist at IISc, said the dust rose up to 5km in the skies, creating the massive storm that enveloped Mumbai on Monday. Skymet’s G P Sharma called it clear pre-monsoon activity that hits coastal areas after a hot spell.

7/12

Visibility too low

Visibility was too low on the Sion Panvel highway due to heavy wind at Sanpada in Navi Mumbai on Monday.

8/12

Tree fall

No less than 187 instances of tree fall occurred within Mumbai, inflicting one fatality and leaving five people injured. In Thane, a relentless downpour, causing 19.28 mm of rainfall and lasting three hours, felled 71 trees.

Part-2. .Air Pollution, Climate change and Global Warming are direct results of wasteful use of Energy in all our Automobiles, that still use Heat Emitting and Energy Wasting Friction Brakes to Stop, and then (Stupidly) use a lot of New Energy, Engine Power and Fuel to Accelerate once again, especially in Stop and Go City Traffic with Frequent Braking and Re-Acceleration at the Traffic Signals, halts and turns; instead of Recovering most of their Kinetic Energy while Braking, and Reusing that same Energy for Powering the Next Acceleration!.. .According to the Laws of Motion, Acceleration can be Free, if most of the Kinetic Energy is recovered while Braking and reused for the Next Acceleration, and the Velocity is Free (when the Air Drag low or is substantially reduced). Our Automobiles need only 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, or 1/5 of New Energy, Engine/Motor Power and Fuel for their Next Acceleration, by Recovering most of their Kinetic Energy while Braking and Reusing that same Energy (Stored in Transmission) for Powering the Next Acceleration!. ..just like in a pull-back Toy Car! ..Trrrr (= Braking), ..Vroom (= Free Acceleration!).. .A Drastic Reduction in Energy, Fuel and Emission from Automobiles (or a lot of Battery Power, Electricity for the EVs), is possible by getting rid of their Energy Wasting Friction Brakes and using a `Smart Transmission' that Recover most of their Kinetic Energy while Braking, and re-using that same Energy (Stored in a Transmission, Wheels or Axles) for powering the Next Acceleration!. ..just like how a Simple Energy Mechanism in a pull-back Toy Car does it so beautifully!. ..Trrrr (= Braking), ..Vroom (= Free Acceleration!).. .Time for Automakers to get rid of Energy Wasting Friction Brakes from those Energy Guzzling Electric Vehicles, and thereby reduce a lot of Battery Power, Electricity (and reducing the use of Coal for Powering the Green Mobility!); if not also from the rest of Automobiles that use the Engine and Fuel and thereby reduce the Air Pollution, Heat and Carbon Emission from all Automobiles. A Simple realization by our Automakers that a Coil spring @ in an Automobile can act as Motor, Generator and Battery/ Ultra-Capacitor all in one simple object (to Recover, Store and Re-use the Braking Energy), can drastically reduce the Energy Consumption, Heat and Carbon Emission from our Automobiles, and end the Climate Crisis.. .India has one of the Best Technology in the World to Drastically reduce the Air Pollution, Energy/Fuel Consumption and Emission from all Automobiles (including EVs!), especially in Stop and Go City Traffic with Frequent Braking and Re-Acceleration; by getting rid of their Energy Wasting Friction Brakes!. A Unique Transmission Technology that Recover, Store and Reuse the Braking Energy and offer an Energy, Fuel and Emission Free Acceleration (Battery Free Acceleration for EVs!), was shown at AutoExpo2000, New Delhi, 24 years ago!.
