Thirty-six-year-old state-level football player James Das Moyes committed suicide at his home in the Khadakpada, Kalyan (W) on Wednesday. The news of his death has come as a shock to members of his fraternity who knew him.

KALYAN: Thirty-six-year-old state-level football player James Das Moyes committed suicide at his home in the Khadakpada, Kalyan (W) on Wednesday. The news of his death has come as a shock to members of his fraternity who knew him.
According to Mahatma Phule the police officials , James's sister returned to their flat in Sai Sankul NX building at around 4 am on Wednesday morning and found his body hanging from a ceiling fan.

She immediately alerted her neighbours and the local police who rushed James to Rukminibai Hospital where he was declared dead. The post-mortem report suggests that James may have committed suicide on Tuesday night late on Tuesday night .
Satish Gorade, assistant police inspector at Mahatma Phule police station said, "We have registered a case of accidental death and further investigations are on." "Primary investigation shows that James was depressed but to ascertain the exact cause of the suicide we still have to wait for his family to arrive in the city
James was a famous football player in Kalyan and had played various state level tournaments. Speaking to TOI, Devendra Singh, sportsman and coach of Duru Cricket Club in Kalyan said, "Even though I was a cricketer I had closely observed James on the grounds. He was one of the best players in Kalyan city. He participated in many tournaments and won various awards for the team." James had recently joined a private firm in Fort and was coaching young aspiring players at Royal Sports Club.
