State govt wants floor map of all important bldgs

Taking into account the difficulty faced by NSG commandos while zeroing in on the terrorists at the Taj and the Trident, the state government has decided to create a digital database of every important public building in the city. The government believes the digital walk-through of important buildings will be handy in case of future attacks or even natural calamities.The state urban development department has decided to make it mandatory for all public buildings to create digital imagery of every floor in the complex. Even existing public buildings will have to follow the rule of making digital imagery of every nook and corner.
Urban development principal secretary T C Benjamin said the BMC would maintain the database.
