mumbai: commemorative stamps on veteran showman raj kapoor, writer and humorist p.l. deshpande, sant tukaram, dadasaheb gaikwad and vithalrao vikhe patil will be issued soon. this was announced by minister for communications pramod mahajan on saturday. he was releasing a commemorative stamp on film legend v. shantaram on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary.mr mahajan said that shantaram's films had a social purpose and a message, while today's bollywood films were stereotyped and formula based. mr mahajan urged kiran shantaram son of late v. shantaram, who was present on the occasion, to produce a feature film on `mahabharat' since there were none on it while there were many films on `ramayana.' mr kiran shantaram announced that film festivals of v. shantaram's films would be held in major cities throughout the country. shiv sena mps mohan rawale and adik shirodkar and actress hema malini also spoke on the occasion.
