Vaidya was depressed since his wife passed away last year. He had come for treatment to Mumbai. According to a resident of the 25-storey building, the incident took place at around 6 pm. "We heard from the watchmen that the deceased had gone for an evening walk and after some time they heard a loud noise. When they rushed towards the parking lot, they found the man lying in a pool of blood,'' said the resident on condition of anonymity. The deceased was a frequent visitor to the building.
The Gamdevi police have sent the body for a post-mortem.
Immediately after the incident, the police cordoned off the building and requested residents to stay indoors. "We don't know what happened. We only heard a thud,'' said a security guard. By 9 pm, most of the flats wore a deserted look-lights were switched off.
