‘Spidermen’ arrested for burgling flat

MUMBAI: Two men, dubbed ‘Spidermen’ by the police for their climbing skills, were arrested for clambering up pipes of a Santacruz building and emptying a flat of valuables worth Rs 1.5 lakh. The two — Rahul Mudani, 20, and Sunny Pawar, 23 — were conservancy workers.

On the intervening night of May 4 and May 5, the duo climbed up the pipes of a building on Linking Road through the duct. They broke the glass of a toilet window of a vacant second floor flat. The duo emptied the dressing table, cupboard and temple, fleeing with valuables and silver utensils worth Rs 1.5 lakh.

The police later tracked them down to Andheri.
