Senior counsel Siddharth Dave said appropriate orders may be passed for early disposal by HC. Her plea was the pendency was impinging on her fundamental rights to effective disposal of the case and to a life with dignity in view of "vexatious criminal proceedings against her".

SC bench of Justices Rohinton Nariman and Navin Sinha while dismissing her petition said, "However, we request the high court, if possible, given the current pandemic situation, to take up and dispose of her petition of 2018, as expeditiously as is possible in the circumstances". She sought quashing of a 2016 FIR by Thane police in an alleged Rs 2,000 crore drug case, saying there is no evidence against her.
