Special CBI court grants bail to builder Satyan Tandon in DHFL case

MUMBAI: A special CBI court on Friday granted bail to builder Satyan Tandon two days after it was cancelled for breaching earlier bail conditions.

The special CBI court on Friday also took cognisance of a chargesheet against Tandon and builders and businessman Avinash Bhosale and Sanjay Chhabria, and said prima facie case was made out against them in the DHFL scam case.

On Wednesday, the court cancelled the bail for breach of conditions after Tandon did not furnish surety on time and no plea was filed for extension of time. Tandon was arrested after the court's orders and remanded to judicial custody till Friday. Arrested in May for the scam, Tandon was granted bail in July.

The court had observed that though there was prima facie evidence against him, since he deposited Rs4 crore, it was a mitigating factor for granting bail.
