Mumbai: Samajwadi Party MLA Rais Shaikh on Saturday urged chief minister
Uddhav Thackeray to give Rs 500 crore as corpus funds for urgent repairs and upkeep of cessed buildings that are regulated by Mhada.
“There are several cessed buildings that are dilapidated and can fall anytime. Once buildings fall, residents are forced to go to Mahul. Mhada must be given funds of Rs 500 crore for urgent repairs.
Mhada is misusing funds that it collects as cess. Many buildings need structural repairs. A Rs 500 crore corpus must be made and those living in these buildings must be able to live safely,” Shaikh said.
