Six injured in Marine Drive accident

MUMBAI:Two bikers received serious injuries while four in a car received minor injuries when the bike rammed into the SUV near

Marine Drive

late on Tuesday night.

The Marine Drive police have registered an offence of rash and negligence against the biker Shashank Wadke. Wadhke and his friend Mangesh Patil are residents of Girguam. They have been admitted to

GT hospital.



The occupants of the SUV car too have recieved minor injuries.

According to the police, the accident took place after Wadkhe who was driving pillion along with Patil, rammed into an SUV which was taking a U turn near near Air India building at

Nariman point

near Marine Plaza hotel signal. Police said that Wadke's Honda CBR bike crashed into the front door of the SUV . "The impact of the accident was that the windshield of the car broke and injured its occupants who were all residents of Malabar hill. The bikers were flung in air," said an officer.

Police said it was biker's mistake as he was in a very high speed and failed to control the bike on time.

The four of them who recieved minor injuries inside the car were identified as Ronak Daftary, Isha Multani and Atith Shah. Atith and Isha sustained injuries in the accident and were also taken to a nearby private hospital where they were given primary medical aid for their wounds sustained from the pieces of glasses which splashed on them after the window of the car was smashed following the crash. Ronak was driving the car and the Isha was sitting on the passengers seat in the front whereas Atith was sitting at the back seat behind Isha, both sustained injuries in the accident. After the crash the airbags of the car opened which shows the impact of the crash, the police said.
